The New …

Home is on the top of a hill covered with sagebrush and other assorted growth. The soil – if it could be called that – is mostly compacted sand. Some of the area was composted before I moved here but I plan to use fresh soil in the new greenhouse.

First, the brush needs to be cut back and the compacted ground broken up. Not a job for hand-work; at least not if it were to be completed in a timely manner.

A neighbor just happened to have a tractor with front scoop and rear tiller.

The new greenhouse will be 9 yds x 3 yds; about 240 sqft. That much area was cleared and tilled; The area was filled with sage such as that remaining behind.
The cats were not happy; this was their happy hunting/hiding ground.
No worry – plenty more where that came from.

The now tilled surface needs to be moved around; this ground is not level enough to put the structure up. Some of the garden soil is piled up, ready to be put in place.
