The Old …

Several planter boxes were used in last summer’s garden. After harvesting, the greens were left in place and covered with plastic sheeting to make it through the winter as best they could.

Seems they survived … although this past winter was not all that severe.

About ½ the main bed was given the hoop/plastic treatment. An extension cord was run out to here to power some infrared lights, but they were not used much.

This section produced leeks, onions, carrots, and spinach.
Significant other doesn’t care for spinach …

But the neighbors do – and among a few of us, we share our bounties.

This being among the first nice, not-quite-cold/not-quite-warm days, the makeshift greenhouse was open to the fresh air.

There’s a plentiful supply of fresh goodies still to be harvested.

This garden was an experiment of sorts. Now I want to put in something more substantial for this year’s garden.
