Garden: Beginning To Pay Off

Been doing more gardening than picture taking. The greenhouse hoops are in place but I left the cover off until fall – a simple tarp for cover protects the plants from direct sunlight while allowing the breezes to flow through … and this particular location has plenty of breezes – but the house shingles are firmly attached.

Crops are mostly doing well

The sunflowers are growing so fast, I swear I can see them grow …

The big achievement is getting the drip irrigation tubing in place

And, while not part of the garden – more like weeds really the way the plants spread – the Russian sage is blooming and does a good job attracting the neighbor’s bees.

    All work and no play … Gardening now pretty much consists of the 2Ws: weeding and watering. Crops are coming along; some of the earlier harvest is underway … the peas are tasty! But, it’s hot in the afternoon so I retreat to a shady place with a cool drink … and start to tangle….
