Garden Time

Time for more “Vines” than “Tangles”

One of my helpers …

I’ve been preparing for the set-up of the greenhouse. Nothing yet worthy of more pictures – unless a post-hole or two is of interest. My paid job ends in a week; progress will improve.

Meanwhile, while moving debris, look what I found!

Picked a bunch; saved a few. Spread some spores around – hopefully. They were under remnants of cardboard boxes that laid out over the winter.

Rancher next door just put his cattle on ,,

Meanwhile, in the garden, things are coming along nicely

The tulips are coming out in sequence: the yellow/orange ones are preetty much gone, the pink and purple are at their peak, and the red ones are now coming out

The first of the irises are coming out

The walnut flowers are out – good crop this year if the magpies don’t get them first. We don’t have squirrels up here …

Forsythia is coming out. Late it seems – those down in town are gone already. The bush never bloomed until last year; these aren’t in full bloom yet but looks promising.

The “Splendid Lilacs” are in full bloom. There’s a different type in between – it’s just now starting to show buds. Looks like some grafting was performed on it before we bought the property; there’s a few white blooms mixed in with the purple. It doesn’t seem healthy so it may be removed this year. We’ll see how it blooms first.

Then we still have grape hyacinth blooming here and there

That’s all for now. Next might be “greenhouse assembly”.

Or not 🙂
