A miracle occurred today … SO actually helped a bit.
2 yards of topsoil in the bed of a pickup … and he shoveled (most of) it out for me. This being a bit of it; more on the other side of the truck.
This goes along with another 2 yards dumped earlier.
This dirt will be spread, smoothed, tilled into the existing dirt, and used as the base for the greenhouse beds.
In other news, other varieties of tulips are starting to bloom.

The tulips have just begun to come out. The yellow ones come out first … and this is the first bloom. Deer love the flowers – these are behind a fence. The grape hyacinths are coming out – if indeed these are grape hyacinths. They were not planted; the act as wildflowers … but here…
Several planter boxes were used in last summer’s garden. After harvesting, the greens were left in place and covered with plastic sheeting to make it through the winter as best they could. Seems they survived … although this past winter was not all that severe. About ½ the main bed was given the hoop/plastic treatment….
Work on the garden continues – it’s that time of year … but progress at this point is not something worth a photograph. Preparations are being made for putting the hoop greenhouse up … but it’s not time yet. Meanwhile, these tulips had escaped their bed and were sacrificed for placement in the kitchen.
