Progress – One Step At A Time

The tulips have just begun to come out. The yellow ones come out first … and this is the first bloom. Deer love the flowers – these are behind a fence.

The grape hyacinths are coming out – if indeed these are grape hyacinths. They were not planted; the act as wildflowers … but here they are and they’re a pleasant addition to the yard.

Little early for chicory (aster perhaps?) but another wildflower coming to bloom.


But the serious work continues. Onions from over the winter are doing fine; freezing weather may not be over yet so new plants are protected with old plastic milk jugs.

Strings are being set up for the climbing plants.

Fresh planted strawberries. Not been successful getting these to sustain themselves; these are pickings from a neighbor’s garden.

So far, so good.

Still more to go

and the ever-present shovel and soil.
